Thrive Thursday: Do What You Love

How many people are miserable these days because they hate their job, hate their partner, can't stand their kids, think their friends are useless, and think the world is a terrible place? Those same people are the people who get sick easily, and have multiple health issues.

This can be a really hard headspace to escape, but if you're going to do it, you only need to do one thing - do what you love - and the rest with follow.

So how can you do what you love without giving up your job or running away to a tropical island? Here's a few ideas.

Start up a side biz or hobby - Businesses are all the rage at the moment, but you don't need to chuck in your 9-5 for them to help you feel fulfilled. If you're crazy about making your own jewelry, have a passion for cooking delish food, or enjoy gardening, why not start doing those things a few hours a week as a side biz?

Choose the finer things - Don't go broke doing this, but get a little bit of luxury going in your life so everyday tasks are more enjoyable. Get better quality sheets so sleep and sexy time are a dream, get some gorgeous candles (I love Blisume) to burn while you wash the dishes and fold the washing, and finish up the day with a nice high quality piece of dark chocolate that melts in your mouth.

Practice some gratitude - This baby helps you to remember that you do actually love a lot of what is in your life! Maybe that boyfriend who is being useless right now always heats up a heat pack for you during your period, or your nagging mum makes you soup and lemon cordial when you're sick. Maybe the job that drags you down at the moment helps you buy the house of your dreams - it's all about shifting your perspective.

Figure out what makes you light up - this is really a key step in living a life that excites you. Sit down and write down all the things that make you happy, and how you can incorporate those into your life. Whether you talk it through with your partner, or use a workbook (like Wellineux's JOM), or make yourself a vision board, the end result is the same - a clearer vision of what you want and how you can achieve it.

So what will you do today that you love?
